Plot Summary
Brothers of the Knight takes place in a magical time in a village called Harlem, a part of New York City. Reverend Knight, a preacher, has twelve sons, ages 7-17. He loves his sons with all his heart. Something mysterious is happening at Reverend Knight's home. Every night his sons go to sleep in their huge bed, with their new shoes lined up on the floor. But, every morning Reverend Knight finds the boy's shoes completely worn out. He asks his newly hired housekeeper, named Sunday, to take care of his sons and to find out how the boys ruin their shoes every night. Sunday is clever. At night, when the boys go to bed, she pretends to go to sleep, too. Then Sunday puts on a magic scarf that makes her invisible. She follows the boys on their nighttime adventures…
