The Arts Council’s Community Gallery is committed to offering rich and diverse cultural experiences to the Baton Rouge community through the presentation of regional, national and international artists’ work. Located in the heart of Downtown Baton Rouge, The Community Gallery is located in the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge at 427 Laurel Street. The 1700 square foot gallery is a great location to hold your next meeting or event.

The Community Gallery is available for business meetings, non-profit events, ceminars, workshops, rehearsals and art related functions. Please click HERE to for a rental application.

The Arts Council's office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Community Gallery Policy and Procedures:

  1. The Community Room is available for rental at a charge of $25 per hour (CFA Member Organizations/Non-profits will be charged $15 per hour.)
  2. Events held outside of Arts Council office hours (Monday-Friday 9:00a.m. - 5:30p.m.) will be assessed an additional $10 per hour charge to have an Arts Council representative on site for a total of $35 per hour (CFA Member Organizations/Non-profits will be charged $25 per hour).
  3. Reservations must be made two weeks in advance.
  4. A 50% deposit must be made as least 48 hours prior to the event.
  5. Access to the building is the responsibility of the Arts Council.
  6. Should the event be cancelled the Arts Council must be notified immediately.
  7. Daytime parking is available in nearby commercial lots or parking meter spaces.
  8. One handicapped parking space is available in front of the Arts Council. Restrooms are handicapped accessible. The second floor may be reached by the elevator.
  9. The Community Room dimensions are 41' x 43', capacity is 150, and has about 30 chairs and 4 tables available for use.
  10. The room is to be left as originally found. Set up and break down are the responsibility of those utilizing the space.
  11. Under no circumstances should artwork in the gallery be touched or moved. Ask the curator for assistance if needed.
  12. Any outside property must be removed and trash taken to the outside dumpster.
  13. Any damage is the full responsibility of the renter utilizing said space.
  14. During office hours, noise must be kept at a reasonable level.
  15. Smoking is NOT allowed inside of the building.
  16. Alcohol will be allowed on the premises with the permission of the Arts Council.
  17. Candles and any type of open flame are strictly prohibited.
