Arts Council Events and Offerings
The Baton Rouge Arts Market provides artists direct sales opportunities and encourages quality craftsmanship and creativity.
FestForAll celebrates the best of our regions talented visual and performing artists in a free festival for all.
Laurel Street Lollapalooza is an evening of live music, fine food, and a first-class silent auction of original artwork and other great finds.
River City Jazz Masters, a stellar series of jazz performances to be held at the Manship Theatre.
Sunday in the Park is a new music series on Sundays in the Fall and Spring in front of the Shaw Center for the Arts.
The Community Gallery offers ongoing exhibitions featuring local and regional artists.

Arts Education and the Community School for the Arts
The Arts Education Department provides arts instruction in the schools and arts education residencies. It also provides arts activities for the rseidents of Renaissance Village - from children to seniors.

The Community School for the Arts offers arts activities to children on weekends and during school holidays at the Shaw Center for the Arts with expanded programming for adults starting Spring 2008.

The Kennedy Center Partners in Education Program provides professional development for artists and teachers.

Grants and Community Development
In 2006-2007, the Arts Council distributed over $790,000 to arts organizations in the eleven parish area served by the Arts Council through: Decentralized Arts Funding Grants, Local Multicultural Grants, Arts Ambassador Awards, the Community Fund for the Arts, and the Charles Lamar Family Foundation Manship Theatre Subsidy Grants.

Outreach and Advocacy
The Arts Council partners with community agencies throughout the year coordinating new opportunities for artists and arts organizations.
The Arts Council participates in public art initiatives and conservation efforts.
The Arts Council's support of the arts creates a strengthened economy and attracts investment in the region.
