The mission of Art Routes is to provide opportunities for travelers to deepen their understanding of the world through the arts and to generate innovative and creative ideas for the local community.

 

Art Routes is traveling to the Berkshires in June 2019!

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is going to the Berkshires!  Join us in June, 2019 for an immersive cultural trip, where we will experience world-class dance at Jacob’s Pillow, music at Tanglewood, theatre at Shakespeare & Co. and more!  All of the details are in the attached brochure.  Contact Melissa at marnold@artsbr.org to reserve your place.

Russia Art Route

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge’s inaugural Art Routes program to St. Petersburg, Russia included tours of some of the most lavish palaces, most distinguished ballet performances and the most spectacular art museums. Special highlights included a private dinner with Victoria Omelnitskaya, a ballerina of the Mariinsky ballet company.

Mexico Art Route

San Miguel de Allende is a UNESCO colonial city in the mountains northwest of Mexico City. The Art Routes program enjoyed 8 days of charming, cobblestone streets, mariachi bands in the city square, a unique artisan vibe and delicious, fresh cuisine all at a leisurely pace that encourages relaxation while learning about this amazing culturally rich area. Additional highlights included a private tour of the Otomi archaeological site, Canada de la Virgen, with world renown archaelologist, Albert Coffee as well as a richly executed arts oriented educational walking tour of the city with Arturo Morales.
