At 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 8th, at Louisiana's Old State Capitol, a free program will be offered called "How We Know What Santa Looks Like!" which is inspired by the current exhibition of editorial cartoons from the golden age of print journalism. This will be a fascinating history lesson for “believers” who are interested in learning just how children knew exactly what Santa looked like before they could meet him in person at the local mall. We’ll see drawings of Santa as he first appeared in newspapers back in the days of the Civil War. Then we'll learn just how the world got to know him even better, and enjoy an ice cold Coke (hint) to toast this merry old fellow! This program is free, open to the general public, and designed for young children and their families.
