Create U is a new Professional Development webinar series for artists and arts organizations in the 11-parish region in which the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge serves.

Each month participants can look forward to a new and exciting speaker, whose goal is to help you expand your professional skills and knowledge.

André du Broc presents "The Artist's Business: An Entrepreneurial Approach to an Artist's Artwork". This brief workshop is designed to allow the artist to consider an entrepreneurial approach to their work. Participants will be guided through defining their audience, accessing their environment, and positioning their "brand" as a product or service solution in their respective markets.
Madeline Ellis works alongside her husband with a team of 5 as full-time jewelers. They create jewelry start to finish in their South Louisiana home studio using the ancient art of lost-wax casting. Madeline (and her husband) graduated in Landscape Architecture from LSU.
