Beginning on Monday, August 15, 2016, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge altered its regular programming to identify and address community needs in response to the flooding damage in the eleven- parish area that it serves. Those parishes include: East Baton Rouge (the organization’s domicile), WestBaton Rouge, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, West Feliciana, East Feliciana, Livingston, Ascension, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, and Washington. Of the eleven, nine parishes were affected and in need of assistance.

The initiative, Creative Relief, is divided into two focus areas: 1} Artists in Need (includes arts education in public, private, and parochial schools); and 2} Artist Helping Others.
