Baton Rouge, LA January 25, 2017: Jamison Ross, will lead the Listening Room Series at the Hartley-Vey Studio Theatre on January 25, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
Jamison Ross, to most, is known for his incredible skill on the drums, but also has an incredible voice. In 2015, his first solo album received a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal Jazz Album of the year. Winner of the 2012 Thelonious Monk, Jr. International Jazz Competition, Jamison Ross has performed with such jazz greats a Dr. John, Irvin Mayfield, Carmen Lundy, and Snarky Puppys.

Members of the Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet Jazz Band will take part in a special presentation by Jamison Ross earlier in day on January 25th. The presentation will include a master class and short performance by Jamison Ross and his band, This arts education opportunity is a partnership with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
The Jazz Listening Room is a series of cabaret style jazz concerts presented in the Hartley/Vey Studio Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts by the Arts Council and the River City Jazz Coalition. These excellent jazz performances feature nationally and internationally known acts in an intimate setting and are offered at affordable prices.
