March 17, 2017An Important Message from the Americans for the Arts President and CEO
Yesterday morning, the Trump Administration released its top-line budget proposal for FY2018, which called for termination of funding for the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA). I am deeply troubled by this proposed budget, as I'm sure you are, but I'm writing to remind you that this is only the beginning of a long budgeting process that will carry on until at least October 2017. Now is the time we must increase our advocacy and education efforts.

In his first budget, President Trump has proposed a full elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and other critical pillars of American arts and culture.
