We can’t serve the community without the support of engaged volunteers like you!

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge hosts multiple large scale events throughout the year that depend on the generous time and effort of the community to help make them successes. Please see below for volunteer opportunities and regularly check back as the year progresses for new or recurring events.

Gallery Docent

The primary duties of a gallery docent are to provide an active presence in the Shell Gallery, provide security for display objects and CSCAC property, provide welcoming and engaging visitor service, and present visitor information. The position requires a positive professional demeanor, excellent visitor service skills, and interpersonal skills.  The Gallery Docent must be a prompt, reliable, and collaborative team member. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Gallery hours are 10am-2pm on Saturdays.

Grant Panelist

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge annually assembles a grant panel to review the Louisiana Project Grants in the summer (actual panel date TBD). Panelists must reside within the 11-parish service area of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. If you are interested in serving as a panelist, please fill out the application linked below.
