Capital Youth Chorus

Capital Youth Chorus creates dynamic and inclusive musical outlets for children across Baton Rouge by blending world music pedagogy, accessible choral education, and meaningful performance opportunities. The program aims to cultivate a vibrant choral community that reflects the diversity and artistic spirit of Baton Rouge and to create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and inspired. Participants will develop their vocal abilities during our regular rehearsals while building lasting friendships and confidence.

Capital Youth Chorus consists of two ensembles: Elementary Choir (grades 3-5), and Middle School Choir (grades 6-8). An audition is required for students to participate in the choir, but students do not need to have prior musical knowledge to join the ensemble. Rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesday nights.
