Each month at BRG is kicked off with a ‘First Wednesday’ Opening Reception introducing the latest exciting work by local and regional artists. With a roster of more than 70 of the region’s best emerging and established visual artists, nearly every monthly exhibition the gallery gives visitors a unique and diverse look at local art of all different media.

First Wednesday receptions are always accompanied with live music performances by Baton Rouge's talented local musicians and a spread of complimentary refreshments. Thanks to the generosity of our members and donors, every 'First Wednesday' Opening is open to the public, free of charge.
